Greetings Eagle Family! I have a weekly update for you all this time around (apologies for last week - we all got bombarded). We had a tremendously busy week last week, and we’ve got some more exciting things happening this week. One more week 

All band rehearsals and sectionals are operating as normal this week.

This Week’s Events:

• Wednesday March 5 - make up day for Solo and Ensemble
• Thursday March 6 - Non-Varsity Bands, Pre-UIL Concert and Sightreading
• Friday March 7 - Jazz Band @ Blinn Jazz Festival, Brenham

WEDNESDAY MAKE UP SOLO AND ENSEMBLE: If you are a student who missed solo and ensemble, we have after school Wednesday dedicated to helping make up the performance.

A schedule of performance times has been posted on the white board. All high school band students are expected to perform at least one event in Solo and Ensemble contest, as chamber music is part of the curriculum and part of everyone’s summative grade. Should you have a conflict with your performance time, I need to know quickly so that we can create a solution.

THURSDAY PRE-UIL NON VARSITY: If you are in periods 3, 4, and 6, you have Pre-UIL Concert and Sightreading this Thursday. Parents are encouraged to attend their child’s performance on stage.

Schedule of event is as follows:

• Sub-Non-Varsity B (6th period class)
  • Students arrive and get instruments: 3:25
  • Warmup in band hall: 3:45
  • On Stage - Performance: 4:30
  • Clinic: 4:50
  • End: 5:10
• Sub-Non-Varsity A (3rd period class)
  • Students arrive and get instruments: 4:20
  • Warmup in band hall: 4:40
  • On Stage - Performance: 5:20
  • Clinic: 5:45
  • End: 6:05
• Non-Varsity (4th period class)
  • Students arrive and get instruments: 5:10
  • Warmup in band hall: 5:30
  • On Stage - Performance: 6:15
  • Clinic: 6:40
  • End: 7:00

Concert attire is as follows:

• Black long sleeve shirt
• Black dress pant (boys and girls)
• Black socks, black shoes, black belt
• Black coat is optional.
• (this is what we call in the music business “concert black”

FRIDAY JAZZ BAND AT BLINN COLLEGE
Performance at Dr W. W. O'Donnell Performing Arts Center
600 Blinn Blvd, Brenham, TX 77833, USA

Schedule:

• 10:00 Arrive at 4th period, load up busses
• 11:15 Depart
• 1:15 Arrive at Blinn College
• 2:00 Warmup
• 2:30 Performance
• Awards TBD
• Arrival time probably around 9PM or so

Same concert attire as above - UIL concert black.
