AMB WEEKLY UPDATE 4/7/2025

Greetings Eagle Family! I am so proud of all of our concert bands this past UIL week. All four concert bands performed magnificently, and all of the band directors are so proud of everyone who worked so hard to make the music happen. Congratulations to each and every one of our amazing band students!

Now that UIL has passed us, it’s time to start getting ready to close out this magnificent school year and get ready to bring in the new one! Here below is a list of events that are planned for us up to graduation. Some dates have changed, so here is what we have currently so far.

• April 7: Leadership Applications Open, Evaluation Music Released
• April 14: Drum Major Information Meeting after school
• April 14: Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night! And Bake Sale
• April 17: Leadership Applications Due
• April 18: No School
• April 21: Leadership interviews begin
• April 21: Band Booster Meeting, 7PM at AHS Band Hall
• April 23: Band Banquet, Kingwood Country Club
• April 24: AMB Orientation, 7PM at AHS Cafeteria
• April 28: HS Class Placement Evaluations for AHS Students
• April 29: AHS Percussion Concert at AHS Band Hall
• May 1: AHS Jazz Band Concert at AHS Auditorium
• May 2: Wind Symphony (Hicks) at SHSU Concert Band Festival
• May 3: AHS Jazz Band at Humble ISD Fine Arts Festival
• May 5, 6, 7: HS Class Placement Evaluations for AMS, TMS, and WLMS students (during class)
• May 5: Drum Major Auditions, Prelims
• May 6: Drum Major Auditions, Finals
• May 8: Jazz Band Auditions at AHS Band Hall
• May 10: Wind Ensemble (Best) at SHSU Concert Band Festival
• May 12, 13, 14: Percussion Pad Camp for all AMB Percussionists at AHS Band Hall
• May 19: Booster Meeting, 7PM at AHS Band Hall
• May 20: AHS Band Spring Concert, all band students at AHS Auditorium, 7PM
• May 23: AHS Graduation

• Applied Music courses are available for anyone who wants an extra period of band class to practice their instruments.

LETTER JACKETS: Fittings will be on April 23rd during lunch. All band students need to fill out the Letter Jacket form to qualify for a letter jacket. If you are a senior, you automatically qualify. If you are an underclassmen, you must earn 50 total points to be awarded one. Please fill out the following form:

This is a big update, so I’m going to stop here for now. This week, students will receive all of their evaluation music materials to get placed for next year’s classes. All of the information to everything is available online under the STUDENTS tab on www.atascocitaband.com
