AMB Weekly Update 9/21/2026

Greetings Eagle Family,

This is the week we have been grinding for since July. We are preparing for one of the biggest football games of the year, against North Shore Senior HS away game on Friday night. And then we step onto the turf for our first official competition on Saturday. We need ultimate focus, perfect attendance, and relentless execution from every single student this week.

Please review this week's critical logistics immediately.

The Rehearsal & Event Grind
  • Monday: Recovery day and tutorials for students. No rehearsal.
    • Booster Meeting: 6:00 PM for the Executive Board, 7:00 PM for all booster parents. We need you there to help fuel this machine.
  • Tuesday: Full Band Rehearsal (5:00 PM - 8:00 PM).
    • Action Item: We are adding new content to the show and learning Part 4 drill as a full group. Students must review their coordinates on the Ultimate Drill Book app beforehand. We need EVERYONE on the field.
  • Wednesday: Full Band Rehearsal (3:30 PM - 5:00 PM).
  • Thursday: Full Band Rehearsal (5:00 PM - 8:00 PM).

Friday Game Day: Away vs. North Shore
  • The Matchup: We are traveling to Galena Park ISD Stadium to take on North Shore Senior High School.
  • The Uniform: Same exact gear as last week (Performance tops, black jogger pants, black crossover shoes; Color Guard in long outfits).
  • The Itinerary: The timeline will be nearly identical to our previous away games. The official itinerary is posted online at www.atascocitaband.com.

Saturday: Humble ISD Marching Festival
  • The First Contest: This is it. Our first competitive run of Going Beyond.
  • The Schedule: The complete Saturday competition schedule is officially live on the website.
  • Future Contests: Draft itineraries for our first four marching band contests, all the way through the UIL Region Marching Contest, are also available to view at www.atascocitaband.com. Lock these dates into your calendars now.

Attendance & Accountability
As we enter competition season, empty dots on the practice field are completely unacceptable. There is no way we as a team can be truly competitive as a massive, interlocked visual production if we are missing performers on the field. A single absence actively damages the team's ability to clean the drill. We need every student, every day. Wednesdays are our worst attendance day. It is time with the patriettes, but we also use that time to clean our own show. YOU MUST BE THERE.

🚨 URGENT: UIL Eligibility Locks Today🚨
The academic grace period is over. Grades officially lock today (Monday) this morning at exactly 10:00 AM. As per the state law regarding “No Pass No Play”, students who failed to secure passing grades in their courses will become ineligible to perform, and those individuals will be notified directly. Ineligible students are no longer eligible to attend practice, football games, band competitions, and after school band related activities. Students who ended up failing one advanced/dual credit or college level course will be eligible for one academic waiver to keep their eligibility just for this grading period. After that, they MUST PASS ALL COURSES - not just the one they failed.

AMB Weekly Update 9-17-2026

Greetings Eagle Family,

We are heading into a fast and heavy Friday. My apologies for the late notice on the pep rally details - we have been digging into grades a lot this week and have focused primarily on academics in our band classes. For this week, we need everyone locked in, in uniform, and ready to perform. Please review these critical logistics immediately.

Friday Pep Rally (Tomorrow)
  • Dismissal: Students will be dismissed during 3rd period for the pep rally.
  • Uniform Standard:
    • Red Band polo shirt (must be tucked in).
    • Jeans.
    • Belt.
    • Any tennis shoes.

Friday Game Day Logistics
  • The Schedule: We are operating on our standard 7:00 PM home game timeline.
    • 3:15 PM: Mandatory rehearsal starts (fast, 30-minute block).
    • 4:30 PM: Depart to the buses.
  • The Uniform Update: We are shifting the uniform for this game.
    • Band: Performance tops, black jogger pants, and black crossover shoes.
    • Color Guard: Long outfits.

🚨 CRITICAL: Academic Eligibility Deadline is TOMORROW 🚨
  • The Deadline: Tomorrow, Friday, September 18th, is the absolute last day for teachers to accept any missing assignments.
  • The Reality: UIL eligibility officially hits next week. If a student is failing even one class when that progress report drops, they are legally benched for the competitive season. Check your grades tonight, turn your work in tomorrow, and do not drop the ball on your eligibility. It's crunch time - tomorrow is it.

On the Horizon: Our First Contest
  • Saturday, September 26th: our first official contest of the season is at the Humble ISD Marching Festival. The official itinerary will be released soon.

AMB Weekly Update: The Grind Continues!
9/8/2026

Greetings Eagle Family.

I am incredibly proud of the work these students put on the field at our last game. The crowd reception for our Going Beyond production was tremendous, and the students felt the massive payoff of their hard work. Now, we enter the grind. It is time to clean, refine, and perfect every single set.

Please review this week's critical logistics, our updated rehearsal schedule, and the most important academic deadlines of the season.

The Band Booster president made an update on the BAND App (spirit wear, game day meal plans, and much more) Please read it entirely.

Game Day Logistics: Away at Dickinson High School (Sept 11)
  • The Matchup: We are traveling to Dickinson High School this Friday. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
  • The Commute: This is a big drive, and we are completely at the mercy of the transportation schedule. We cannot waste a single minute.
  • The Expectation: Every single student must be in the band hall immediately after school. We are executing a fast, precision rehearsal run-through, and then we are loading the buses.
  • Itinerary is posted on the main website!

Post-Labor Day Rehearsal Schedule: We are adjusting for the holiday. Attendance is mandatory.
  • Tuesday (Today): Full Band from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We are learning the drill for Radiohead’s Creep. 7 new sets today! All students must be in attendance.
  • Wednesday: Full Band from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM (Collaborating with the dance team).
  • Thursday: Full Band from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

🚨 URGENT: Academic Eligibility Dates 🚨
  • September 18th: This is the absolute final day for students to turn in classwork to secure their eligibility.
  • September 25th (Approx): The progress report officially releases.
  • The Consequence: If a student is not passing their classes on that progress report, they stand to lose their eligibility to participate in marching band for the rest of the season.
  • Take Action: This week and next week are clutch. Check your student's grades today. Do not let them lose their spot on the turf because they failed a class.

Academic & Fall Break Deadlines (DO NOT IGNORE)
  • September 18th (Grades): The absolute final day for students to turn in classwork. If they fail the upcoming progress report, they lose their eligibility for the season.
  • October 12th-16th (Fall Break): Warning: Do not book a family vacation. Our biggest UIL contest is October 17th. We have mandatory practices all through fall break. We have been grinding since July camp, and we need every single participant there.

The 2026 Competition Gauntlet: Lock these dates into your family calendars immediately. This is our road to UIL Area. Itineraries for all of these events will be released as we approach them.
  • September 26th: Humble ISD Marching Festival
  • October 3rd: Galena Park Marching Festival
  • October 10th: Channelview Marching Festival
  • October 17th: UIL Region 3 Marching Contest
  • October 31st: UIL Area Marching Contest

Homecoming Game Concessions: Sept 18
  • Concessions are our biggest fundraiser. If we lack volunteers, we are forced to close stands or hand them to other teams, bleeding out money we desperately need.
  • Volunteering is fast, furious, and an absolute blast. You will laugh, build friendships, and do the heavy lifting alongside your people. Step up and take a shift.

WiddyUp Fundraiser: Nov 6 Kickoff
  • The Target: We raised nearly $35,000 last year, but this year we are aiming higher to fuel our massive custom design budget.
  • The Launch: Official kickoff is Friday, November 6th, at our home game. We will train the students on execution that day.
  • The Prep: Students, start brainstorming your pitch and sell videos now. Get creative so you are ready to execute on launch day.

AMB Weekly Update 9/2/2026

Greetings Eagle Family. Welcome to September! We are getting deeper into our band  season, and it is time to step up our game! This Saturday is our first big home game at Turner Stadium, and I need every student and parent locked in on the expectations below.

The Volunteer Standard: Concession Stands
  • This is our first massive game at the stadium, and we urgently need parents to step up and volunteer to run the concession stands.
  • Volunteering is an expectation in the band program. Think of this program like Little League baseball, where every family is expected to be a dugout parent for at least one game. We have the exact same standard here.
  • Every single parent is expected to volunteer for at least 3 to 4 shifts throughout the competition season. We cannot operate this program without your heavy lifting. Please sign up to help us pull this off.
  • Concession stands is REALLY FUN! It's not stressful at all. You meet new parents, and it's a fun experience.
  • Please click the link to sign up for a spot. WE REALLY NEED HELP!

Game Day Logistics: Cibolo Steele HS at Turner Stadium
  • We are playing Cibolo Steele High School this Saturday at Turner Stadium.
  • The official student call time is 1:15 PM this Saturday.
  • The complete, detailed schedule for the game is posted online at www.atascocitaband.com. Please review it immediately.

Academic Eligibility: The Week 4 Check
  • We are currently in week four of the grading period, and I am seeing a lot of students struggling to keep their numbers up.
  • The upcoming week-six report card completely dictates UIL eligibility for all band students. You must pass to perform.
  • If you are falling behind, you need to step up and take responsibility. Come find me or any of the band directors. We are here to help you succeed, but you have to put in the work to get those grades up right now.
