All Atascocita Band students are placed in a concert ensemble class for the school year. All kids make a band. There is no audition -you're automatically in!
Wind Ensemble
Varsity Concert Band
The Atascocita High School Wind Ensemble features the finest musicians in the Atascocita band program. The Wind Ensemble begins meeting during the 3rd Six Weeks and is made up of students from all grade levels. The Wind Ensemble performs the finest wind literature and continues the development of refined, professional skills. The Wind Ensemble will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. This select group will also participate in outside musical opportunities when they present themselves. Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to study privately with our adjunct faculty. Additionally, these students are required to participate in UIL solo and ensemble, TMEA region band events, and will enter the TMEA Honor Band competition on 6A entry years.**
**Private lessons are not a requirement, but Wind Ensemble students are expected to take private lessons on their instrument to keep up with the extreme demands of the hardest music literature available on the music list.

The Atascocita High School Wind Symphony is one of our concert bands in the Atascocita High School band program. The Wind Symphony begins meeting during the 3rd Six Weeks and is made up of students from all grade levels. The Symphonic Winds focuses on refining instrument playing skills and performing quality music literature of a higher difficulty level. The Symphonic Winds will perform many concerts throughout the school year and during the month of April is a participant in the TMEA UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. Members of this ensemble are highly encouraged to study privately with our adjunct faculty. Additionally, these students are required to provide professional concert critiques, and participate in UIL solo and ensemble and TMEA region band events.
